CINEMATICA AND THE LEADERBOARD
Graphics and branding for YouTube channels Cinematica and The Leaderboard.
I helped start and lead the branding for Frederator's new YouTube channel, Cinematica. We wanted to create something that could
encompass all live action videos, movies, and TV. We didn't want to rely too heavily on film reel and ticket stub imagery, like most content in
this broad category, and we needed something that felt relatively new and not 'too old school.' I came up with the idea to center the branding
around projections and bright holographic colors on dark backgrounds. The first thing I created was the 'Cinematica' typeface logo.
I then presented my ideas to one of our
illustration interns, Pat Hughes, who came up with
this awesome concept for a Fred Head logo.
Pat's concept was then sent to a CGI artist to get
the Fred Head to fit in more with the live action
movies, videos, and TV category.

The branding was used across all aspects of the YouTube channel, including end cards like the one I created above!
Branding for The Leaderboard had been mostly solidified
by a previous designer, but we still needed a Fred Head logo. This was the idea we presented to a CGI artist.
The CGI artist's final return! This
Fred Head definitely fit in with The Leaderboard's content: video games.
